   The Tourism Gnome

My name is Henry Bellagnome, and my grandfather was the first gnome in what would become New York's Capital District to have met Henry Hudson in 1609. He and my father helped the Dutch, and then the English and the Americans, build the cities of Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, Amsterdam, and Hudson.

On March 9th, 2015 I packed up my mushroom and hit the road. While working at Walmart one day I came across Mr Scott Meislin and Mr Steve Forck. They gave Walmart $40 and stuffed me in the trunk (is that legal? I may have been kidnapped now that I think about it...) It all worked out because they gave me the ability to branch out and start my own business to market and promote New York's Capital District regional tourism and small businesses, so I began Capital District Community Development with the help of my human assistants and now my job is to promote the region around Albany, Schenectady, and Troy to visitors and locals alike. I've become quite popular and most people know me simply as Henry or The Tourism Gnome

I'm big into shop local programs and tourism. I love meeting new people. During the day I'm out in the community visiting new sights and businesses, meeting new people and promoting Albany-Saratoga region tourism and small businesses. Feel free to walk up to me and take a photo of me or with me. I don't mind! I'm a gnome of the people, and I don't mean that in a quizzacious way!
